3 Simple Steps to Overcome Fear and Embrace Opportunity!

I hope you are having a great week so far!

In Hong Kong, we are celebrating Chinese New Year 🎊.

May I take this opportunity to wish you and your families a healthy, joyful and prosperous Year of the Snake 🐍!

I have some exciting news to share - I have been officially selected as a "Woman to Watch" by The Women's Foundation and 30% Club Hong Kong Chapter!!!

This initiative aims to increase the representation of women on a wide range of boards across Hong Kong while connecting senior women leaders with the ecosystem for board positions.

On the outside, it looked like I was given this recognition so easily but, on the inside, it was a different story.

You see, when I applied for this, I thought my chances of getting it would be very low. That was my honest belief.

As I was filling out the long application form, I wanted to give up so many times and I thought it was a waste of time - why would I set myself up for failure? Wouldn't it be embarrassing when I got rejected?

Who do I think I am playing in this arena?

My work is all about empowering women to believe in their worth and this is just as much of a journey for myself.

I knew that I had to walk the talk and couldn't let my limiting belief stop me.

I said to myself that no matter what, I had to fill in the whole application and send it off.

So I did. And it paid off. πŸ‘

So if you are reading this and there is some action you are sitting on because you are doubting your worth, then let me tell you something  - you are fully in your capability to have and be whatever you want - you just have to go after it!

Here are three steps to take when you are feeling the fear:

  1. Acknowledge Your Fear: It's completely normal to feel afraid when stepping outside your comfort zone. Instead of shying away from it, embrace that fear. Recognizing it is the first step in turning it into a source of strength.

  2. Break It Down: When a goal feels overwhelming, break it down into smaller, manageable steps. Focus on taking just one action at a time. Each small win will build your confidence and make the journey feel less daunting.

  3. Lean on Your Community: Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you. Share your dreams and concerns with them. Their encouragement and shared experiences can light the way and remind you that you’re not alone on this journey.

Remember, every courageous step you take brings you closer to your dreams! 🌈

Have a great weekend!
